THE BREUER ESPRESSO CUP - in 'Crayon Grid'

£9.00

Sharp. Minimal. Grounded. The BREUER Espresso Cup is all clean lines and quiet strength – a compact form with a square-set profile and no unnecessary detail. Just clay, hand-thrown and pared back to its essentials.

Named after Marcel Breuer, it channels his rational modernism and love of geometry – built like a tiny building in miniature. The proportions are tight, the walls are slightly weighty, and the shape feels good in the hand: solid, assured, architectural. Sized for a single or double shot, or whatever you’re calling espresso today. It doesn’t ask for much – just a good roast and five quiet minutes.

Thrown with a white clay body and decorated with ceramic crayon in an uneven blue grid – like swimming pool tiles sketched from memory. It’s loose, playful, and a little bit wonky in all the right ways. Perfectly imperfect, with a kind of childlike clarity that doesn’t try too hard. A clear glaze over the top seals everything in for protection.

Made in small batches, with subtle variations in glaze and form – because even the most structured designs still carry the mark of the maker. Dishwasher safe.
